An exciting development has been announcement in the build up to Daisy Midgeley's exit storyline this week, with the Mirror reporting an exciting return in the spring.
Fans will remember Daisy's often estranged mother, Christina Boyd, played by the brilliant Amy Robbins, who has taken on the role before, butting heads with Jenny Connor, and proving to be quite the neglectful parent.
Christina has previously told Daisy that she never wanted to be a mum, and hated it, and went on to tell Daisy about a 'curse' on their family when it came to getting married. Though the pair fell out prior to what would have been Daisy and Daniel's wedding day, she did contact her mother again during her affair.

The relationship between mum and daughter is tumultuous at best, with her last on screen appearance coming when Daisy and Jenny were lying about stealing 250k from Carla, something which her mother used to her advantage.
As Daisy is set to become a mother herself soon enough, perhaps she'll welcome her mother's presence...though, knowing how Christina has treated her daughter in the past, it seems more likely that she's going to use her as an example of how not to parent!
The Mirror's report went on to quote an insider as saying: "we've got a few months of Christina causing all kinds of chaos before then."
With the character set to appear on our screens in the spring, it looks like we'll still get to enjoy Daisy on our screens until at least the summertime, if not beyond!

But, what brings Christina back to the cobbles? Does she want to make amends with her daughter? Play a role in her grandchild's life? Or will there be some ulterior motive?
With the exit looking to be an exciting one, and the insider promising 'chaos', it seems likely that Christina will bring trouble with her. Will mum and daughter end up leaving happily together? Or will the trouble her mother brings with her prove too much for the mum-to-be?
