Which Characters Might Leave Coronation Street Next?

In the first few weeks of the year, a lot of Coronation Street exits have already been announced. These include Charlotte Jordan, Colson Smith, Paddy Bever and Shelley King.

With it seeming as if a lot of familiar faces are departing the cobbles this year, we take a look at which characters might be next to leave...

Lauren Bolton

Now she's a free woman, might she want a fresh start? (credit: ITV)

In last night's visit to Coronation Street, Lauren was found not guilty of the murder of Joel Deering. Though she's now a free woman, could this be the perfect opportunity for her to leave the street behind?

With Max's exit confirmed, may the pair decide to have a fresh start with baby Frankie? Or, if the rumours are true and he dies in the Platt house fire, might she want to get as far away as possible? Either way, it seems likely she'll depart sooner or later, with few connections left on the street.

Daniel Osbourne

Fans have been keen for Daisy Midgeley and Daniel Osbourne to get back together for some time now. With Bethany leaving for London, the paternity of Daisy's baby up in the air, and her exit sealed...might he be leaving for a new life with her?

Gutting as it would be to lose Rob Mallard's talent, we can't deny we would absolutely love for Daisy, Daniel, Bertie and the new baby to have a happy ending together!

Jenny Connor

Or perhaps it'll be Jenny that leaves with Daisy? (credit: ITV)

If not Daniel, could there still be someone who rides off into the sunset with Daisy? Her stepmum has made it clear that she's excited to be 'nana Jenny', and the pair have always had a strong bond.

Though the Mirror recently reported a falling out between the pair prior to Daisy's exit, will she really leave on bad terms with Jenny? Or might the pair make up and decide to leave together? With Carla now keen to get her money back, is it time they sold the pub?

Alya Nazir

She recently returned...but might she leave with her Gran? (credit: ITV)

With her new relationship with Adam Barlow, and her law job, it does seem unlikely that Alya would choose now to leave the street...but Alya and Yasmeen have been the only remaining Nazirs on the street for awhile now, will she decide to follow her Gran out of Weatherfield? Only time will tell.

Brian Packham

Brian is a character with few connections on the street (credit: ITV)

Perhaps his enjoyable friendship with Mary will keep him safe, but Brian's connections seem few and far between these days! With no family on the street, might he be one of the next to decide to call it a day? It has been awhile since he really had any involvement with any storylines.

Billy Mayhew

Might Billy leave after his bereavement last year? (credit: ITV)

As it feels like Corrie are slowly letting go of the characters who have few familial connections, could Billy be one of the next to go? Having lost his husband Paul last year, his only remaining link on the street is Summer, but as she's growing up and busy with university, might he decide it's time to leave the cobbles behind?

Audrey Roberts

Perhaps Audrey will follow her daughter to France (credit: ITV)

Though the Platts are obviously still a major staple on the street, we don't see nearly as much of Audrey these days as we used to. With Gail having left last month, might her mother decide it's time to say her goodbyes too? Though, of course, she still has her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around, could she decide to move closer to her daughter?
