2024 has been a huge year for new Coronation Street fan favourite DS Lisa Swain and for good reason. She's been involved in solving multiple crime cases as well as being at the centre of a popular love story with Carla.

But, what is around the corner as 2025 gets ready to arrive? Will the year treat Lisa well?

Coronation Street 2025: Lisa Swain and Carla get stronger

2024 saw Swarla finally confess their feelings for each other, but it took a long time to get there.

Lisa Swain wasn't on the best of terms with Carla at the start of the year after arresting Peter for Stephen's murder in 2023, and arresting Roy Cropper for Lauren's "murder" this year.

However, as Lisa started to let her guard down and form a friendship with the Underworld owner, everything changed.

Carla was absolutely smitten, doing everything to win brownie points and get in Lisa's good books.

It was actually Ryan who encouraged Carla to make a move on Lisa, and we're so thankful he did.

With Carla and Lisa now in a relationship with each other, they're set for a happy Christmas.

However, the start of 2025 will see them face some huge hurdles as Carla is rushed to hospital with sepsis. It then transpires that she might need another kidney transplant.

Ultimately though, Swarla are set to come through all of this stronger than ever before. So, we can all breathe a sigh of relief now.

Becky death discovery

One of the huge hurdles Lisa will face in 2025 is that she'll be focused more on what really happened to her late wife Becky than her relationship with Carla at first.

With Matty Radcliffe hinting that he had something to do with Becky's death, Lisa's desperate to find out what his involvement was.

Fortunately, Lisa manages to get Mason on side after showing him photos of his brothers at the crime scene of Becky's death.

Mason then rummages around his brothers' place and finds something that could help Lisa get some answers. But, will justice finally be served in 2025?
